Biretta of Cardinal Benedict Blommaerts

In March 2011 June I published the article:

showing a picture of a Norbertine with a very tall white biretta.

Portrait of Cardinal Benedict Blommaerts (I don't think he was a cardinal?)
half-length turned to the left, facing towards the viewer; wearing a biretta, mozzetta and a rochet in his hands he holds a necklace with cross; after Jacobus van Reesbroeck; 1635-1704 (c.)

The Monumental Significance of Christian Head Coverings

Abuna Salomon
Ethiopian Orthodox Monk living in Jerusalem

If you watch the film "Hats of Jerusalem", directed by Nati Adler,
at 18:23 minutes, Abuna Salomon is interviewed about his head covering,
a purple qob (he mention it as "the crown"):

"You mean about the crown?
This crown's origin, the one who started was Jesus Christ.
During the crucifixion of Jesus Christ he had a thorn crown.
That means for us monks, we are his followers.
When we wear this crown, that means,
at the same time, we feel your pain.
We are under you.
You are our real God.
You are the son of God and we follow your rule."

Abuna Salomon, a simple monk living in Jerusalem,
explained in simple words why Christian clergy should wear a head covering!
To remember Jesus Christ's pain.

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me."
Galatians 2:20
