  1. the bottom picture looks like a fake. I own four of these. Two were my grandfather's and two i bought new. Three are black. all of the balck ones have buttons on the sides, with a v shaped dip in the rim where the button is. The fourth is white satin and is flat topped.

    1. I used to own one. Both of my Grandfathers wore them. I have tried to find another, and cant seem to. Do you know where I may be able to purchase one? Thank you

      I got mine from Jerusalem. A friend of mine bought them for me in a hat shop. Unfortunately I do not know a web shop where you can order it online.

  3. Greetings Herr Philippi! I notice the Lithuanian kipah resembles strongly the modern Zarathushtri topis. Nearly identical, in fact. But I never saw a topis with buttons.

  4. These seem to resemble somewhat the German kippa (käppchen), although the top is sewn differently, on the käppchen there is no lip at the top
