ReplyDeleteIt the hat conferred on doctors at the Swedish university upon their promotion to doctor, along with the doctoral ring.
There is a buckle in front which varies with university and faculty, however, Doctors of Theology wear a black rosette.
Doctors of Philosophy are conferred a laurel wreath at their promotion, but may wear the black hat later.
